For teams building for Nepali and Indian users.
Navapatra is a Vedic astrology and Nepali calendar API for apps in Nepal and India. Teams building for Nepali users have had to glue together a BS converter, an Indian astrology API and their own translations, and they still hear "your tithi is wrong" from users. Teams in India get the same kundali, panchang and guna milan, with Hindi output, amanta or purnimanta months and the ayanamsha they already use.
We do a short list of things carefully: BS-native dates, Panchang Samiti alignment, Nepal’s timezone history, Nepali output and a public test corpus, so you can check the numbers yourself.
How we work
- Stateless by default
- Birth data is used to compute a response. It is never stored or logged.
- Verifiable
- The engine is tested against Swiss Ephemeris on 5,433 births, and 500 of them are public as a test corpus.
- Billing in NPR
- Prepaid credits in NPR through Nepali payment methods, with VAT invoices. Indian customers can email us for invoicing.
- Fewer endpoints, done well
- Eighteen operations with consistent shapes, not hundreds of near duplicates.
What we do not do
- Western astrology, tarot or numerology
- PDF reports
- Hosted AI chat or written predictions
- Storing birth data you did not ask us to keep
